UWAMAHORO Raphael received a Bachelor of Science with Hons in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rwanda, awarded in 2014. He subsequently received a Master of Technology in Biomedical Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), India, in 2018. During his postgraduate studies, he actively participated in international conferences focused on biomedical innovations, including presenting work of “Microcontroller and IoT-based heart rate detection systems. Currently, Raphael completed the PhD at the Faculty of Computer Technology and Engineering, specialized in Biomedical Engineering at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), in December 2025. He has published several research articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals reflecting his commitment to advancing healthcare technology and translational research. He is presently serving the College of Science and Technology and an Associate Academic at the Regional Centre of Excellence in Biomedical Engineering and e-Health (UR-CEBE), University of Rwanda. With his interdisciplinary expertise, regional leadership experience, and global academic exposure, Raphael continuing his research to contribute to the Biomedical engineering (research and development, local capacity building) and related issues in the region towards global health initiatives.
