About the Programme

Programme Overview

The Master of Science in Rehabilitation and Mobility Sciences is a two- years rehabilitation degree programme (240 credits) offered by the Regional Centre of Excellence in Biomedical Engineering and e-Health (CEBE), University of Rwanda.

The programme focuses on advanced knowledge and skills for improving the mobility, independence, and quality of life of individuals with physical disabilities. The program integrates principles of rehabilitation science, assistive technology, prosthetics and orthotics, and patient-centered care. It prepares graduates to design, implement, and evaluate rehabilitation interventions that enhance functional mobility. The program combines coursework, laboratory practice, clinical field attachment, and a research dissertation.

Structure

Programme Structure

The programme totals 240 credits and is organized over two academic years (four semesters) of full-time study. No part-time option is currently available.

As specified in the Rwandan National Qualification Framework for Higher Education Institutions (NCHE, 2007), the academic year is divided into four semesters of 15 weeks each. Academic work and assessments are carried out within the month in which each module is completed.
